Around 500 years ago, Portugal was one of the most powerful countries in the world. And the ocean gave that power to then. Their sailors traveled across the world and discovered new lands, they discovered Brasil, with all his culture, his gold, and his potential to start new business, from coffee to sugar.
And around 500 years ago this tower was build. The "Torre de Belém" is a symbol of that Era, and a symbol of so many feelings, from those brave sailors who depart from the river Tejo to the unknown... From those sailors who return from the new world alive, and the first thing they saw was the Tower.
